European Commission's CORDIS showcases MARBLES achievements

We are pleased to share that the European Commission's CORDIS platform has published a Results in Brief article entitled "An underwater pharmacy – finding beneficial marine microbes", which highlights the project's achievements and contributions to marine biodiscovery.

The article showcases how MARBLES explored marine biodiversity as a source of beneficial microbes and natural compounds with potential applications in human health, aquaculture and agriculture. It highlights the project's innovative approach to discovering disease-suppressive microbes and bioactive compounds while promoting the sustainable use of marine resources.

Among the achievements recognised by CORDIS are the analysis of more than 1,200 microbial strains, the preparation of over 8,000 extracts and extensive biological screening campaigns that helped identify promising compounds for further development.
